Around Town – What’s Going on in Our Community

May 2, 2017 – 100 Women Who Care will be holding their next meeting at 6:30 pm, at Genetti’s Hole in the Wall, 108 East Main Street, Northville. If you don’t know what this wonderful group is all about, here’s some info from their website:
- We meet for one hour, four times a year, and each member brings a check for $100.
- Every member can nominate local charities, non-profits, or worthy causes.
- Members who come to the meeting can put the name of the charity they want to speak about into the hat.
- Three names are drawn at random at each meeting.
- A member makes a 5-minute presentation about each cause.
- We all vote on which cause to support.
May 4, 2017 – Northville Farmer’s Market, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm. Located at the northwest corner of 7 Mile and Sheldon Rd. Sponsored by the Northville Chamber of Commerce. For more information call 248-349-7640 or go to the Farmer’s Market website. Overflow parking is located at the Northville Downs Race Track, right across the street from the market.
May 5, 2017 – First Friday Experience, 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Downtown Northville. Celebrate the First Friday of the month with the retailers and restaurants of Downtown Northville. Many stores stay open late and feature refreshments, new merchandise, sales and visits from local artists. Visit the website for more information.
May 6, 2017 – Wildflower Walk, 10:00 am – 11:00 am. 20145 Beck Rd. Stable parking lot. Join the Friends of Maybury as they lead an interpretive stroll on open paths lined with many of Michigan’s beautiful native wildflowers and natural attractions. Bring your guidebook and cameras. Suitable for all ages and abilities. This program will run rain or shine. New location this year – we will meet at the stables parking lot, using the Beck road entrance. May 3, 2017 – CPR Class, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, Fire Station #4 49375 Ten Mile Rd.
May 4, 2017 – Doing the Derby – Thursday, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Meadowbrook Activity Center. Novi’s own Kentucky style derby! This program is proudly sponsored in partnership with South Lyon Care and Rehab Center. Ages 55+. Price for residents is $7.50. Non-residents price is $9. Ticket deadline is April 26 or until sold out, so be sure to check with the Meadowbrook Activity Center (248-347-0414) for ticket availability.
